Vol. 542 No. 4

Written Answers. - National Development Plan.

Beverley Flynn

Question:

106 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the amount of money which has been allocated and spent to date by his Department in each of the BMW counties under the national development plan. [24627/01]

The national development plan provided a total indicative allocation of some £4.3 billion, 5.5 billion, in relation to the agriculture, food and related rural development areas over the 2000-06 period.

In the case of the main element – the CAP rural development plan – the allocation of £3.4 billion, 4.3 billion, is on a national basis. In relation to the remaining measures, the allocation is split on a regional basis with £389 million, 494 million, attributed provisionally to the BMW region. The following table sets out details of expenditure incurred by my Department and agencies under its aegis up to 30 September 2001 in each of the BMW counties.
