Written Answers. - Mental Health Act.

Bernard Allen

Question:

330 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has met the Irish division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists which recently sought an urgent meeting with him to discuss issues related to the new Mental Health Act, 2001; and the outcome of those discussions. [25221/01]

The views of the Irish division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists were considered in the context of the preparation of the Mental Health Bill. Arrangements have been made for a meeting to take place shortly between officials from my Department and representatives of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in order to discuss issues relating to the Mental Health Act, 2001.
