Question:

239 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the total receipts in respect of motor taxation for the past 12 months; the receipts for the previous 12 month period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25682/01]

Gross motor tax receipts, including driver licence duties etc. collected from motorists during the period October 2000 to September 2001 and the corresponding period October 1999 to September 2000 amounted to £423.53 million and £393.82 million respectively. Those are unaudited figures.
