Allocation of Time: Motion.

Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach (Mr. S. Brennan): I move:
That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders or the Order of the Dáil of this day,
No. 53(a) on a supplementary Order Paper:
Statements on Northern Ireland shall be taken immediately after the Announcement of Matters under Standing Order 21 and shall be brought to a conclusion not later than 7.00 p.m., and the Order shall not resume thereafter.
The following arrangements shall apply. The opening statements of a Minister or Minister of State and of the main spokespersons of Fine Gael and the Labour Party shall not exceed 15 minutes in each case. The statements of each other Member called upon shall not exceed ten minutes. Members may share time, and a Minister or Minister of State shall be called upon to make a statement in reply which shall not exceed 15 minutes.
For the information of the House, it is intended that the Taoiseach will close the debate.
