Vol. 542 No. 6

Written Answers. - Flood Prevention Measures.

Tony Gregory

Question:

151 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance if funding is available to carry out flood prevention measures (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25584/01]

Dublin Corporation, in its capacity as contracting authority for the River Tolka Flood Alleviation Study, has recently completed a draft brief for the proposed study with input from Meath County Council, Fingal County Council and the Commissioners of Public Works. The draft brief is currently being examined by my officials who are liaising with the local authorities with a view to finalising the brief and commencing the study. Funding for the study report will be provided from the Vote of the Office of Public Works. It is expected the report will be completed by autumn 2002.
