Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Statements of Claim.

John McGuinness

Question:

209 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Defence if he will examine a statement of claim submitted to his Department by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [26107/01]

A civil claim has been received in my Department from the individual in question. A statement of claim has been received in the matter and has been referred to the military authorities for their comments and observations. On receipt thereof it is proposed to refer the matter to the Chief State Solicitor for his legal advice. In the circumstances, as this is the subject of civil litigation, you will appreciate that I am unable to comment further in the matter.
