Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

293 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 205 of 23 October 2001, he will indicate the way in which payment in the case referred to would evolve over three years if the scheme remains in its current form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26707/01]

If the area-based compensatory allowance scheme was to continue in its present form, payment in this case over the three years 2001-03 will not change, provided the person named will be in a position to fulfil the terms and conditions of the scheme and the area of his holding does not change. If EU approval is received for increased payment rates on mountain type land on the basis of the proposal recently submitted to the European Commission, his annual payment will increase from £1,022.88 to £1,691.10.

Gerry Reynolds

Question:

294 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a payment of the control of farmyard pollution grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [26781/01]

Payment of £7,077.63 has issued to the person named under the national scheme for the control of farm pollution.
