Question:163 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he will ascertain tonnage on a vessel (details supplied) in County Mayo. [26030/01]

The vessel in question is not registered on the current fishing boat register established in 1990. Departmental records predating the 1990 register indicate that the tonnage of the vessel is 2.22 GRT. As it is unregistered the tonn age has no official status within the fishing fleet and would not qualify to be used for replacement capacity purposes.
