John Ellis

Question:

91 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will make an area based payment to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [27102/01]

A herdowner must submit a valid area aid application for the relevant year in order to be considered for payment under the disadvantaged areas compensatory allowance scheme. No area aid application was received from the person named for the year 2001, and consequently no disadvantaged areas compensatory allowance scheme payment can be made for 2001.

Dan Neville

Question:

92 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when area-based aid payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [27111/01]

To be eligible for the 2001 disadvantaged areas compensatory allowance, an applicant must occupy and farm a minimum of three hectares of forage land in a disadvantaged area. According to the 2001 area aid application submitted by the person named, her holding is not in a disadvantaged area, and she did not apply for compensatory allowance. Consequently no disadvantaged areas compensatory allowance payment can be made for 2001 to the person named.
