Vol. 543 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Michael Ring

Question:

538 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason persons (details supplied) in County Mayo are not being collected from their home to be brought to national school. [27949/01]

Special transport arrangements may be considered by my Department where a pupil has a severe medical condition which would prevent him or her from making his or her own way to a pick-up point or school. The medical evidence submitted by the family in this case has been forwarded to the medical advisor to determine whether the appropriate conditions apply. On receipt of the medical advisor's reply, the Deputy will be advised of the position.
