Vol. 543 No. 5

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

103 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his plans to construct a new Garda Station at Dunmanway County Cork; and if finance will be provided for same in the Department of Justice 2002 Estimates. [26162/01]

It is proposed to refurbish the existing Garda station at Dunmanway and I am informed by the Office of Public Works that they expect to complete this project in 2002.

Finance is not provided in the Garda Vote of my Department for the construction of Garda stations or, in general, works of a capital nature. Capital works are undertaken by the Office of Public Works and funded from its Vote.
