Question:116 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the position regarding discussions with the EU Commission on the proposed URBAN II programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27886/01]
Written Answers. - URBAN Operational Programme.
The URBAN II Programme was approved and signed by EU Commissioner Barnier on 7 November last. Dublin Corporation is the managing authority for the operation of the programme which will be implemented in the Ballyfermot area. The first monitoring committee meeting, which is expected to take place in early December, will be asked to approve the programme complements. The implementation of the various measures will then begin.
