Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Dick Spring

Question:

365 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason a number of persons - details supplied - at Behenagh, Knocknagoshel, County Kerry, have not been provided with a water supply from the Brosna-Knocknagoshel water scheme, County Kerry. [28680/01]

The recently commissioned Brosna-Knocknagoshel regional water supply scheme provided the headworks and trunk main network to facilitate future group water scheme development in the local area. I understand that the householders concerned are in communication with the Brosna-Knocknagoshel group water scheme representatives with a view to obtaining a group scheme supply.

Responsibility for the administration of the rural water programme, including the group water capital grants scheme, has been devolved to the local authorities.

Question No. 366 answered with Question No. 356.
