Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Offices.

Willie Penrose

Question:

389 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs when the Department's sub-office at Castlepollard, County Westmeath, will be re-opened; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28802/01]

Applications received in response to the advertisement in the local press for the provision of branch office services in Castlepollard are currently being evaluated. It is envisaged that interviews will be held early to mid-December and the Department expects that a branch office will reopen early in the new year. Pending the opening of the office, all claims and inquiries are being dealt with by the Mullingar social welfare local office.
