Vol. 544 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

424 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if an application for the completion of registration by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo can be expedited. [28787/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a Land Commission vesting order which was lodged on 13 October 1983 and transmission, dealing no. 89SM01734X refers, which was lodged on 31 March 1989 in respect of schedule 85691, County Mayo. Land Commission vesting orders and fiats are deemed to be registered as of the date of vesting which is prior to the date of lodgement of the documents in the Land Registry. Accordingly, registration in the Land Registry of Land Commission cases is afforded a lower priority than the registration of other dealings. Provided there are no queries arising, this case is expected to be completed in the next four weeks.
