Vol. 544 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

173 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) has not received a 2001 headage and suckler cow payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29184/01]

The area aid unit did not receive a 2001 area aid application from the person named, therefore, no area aid related payments could have been made to him. However, the applicant claimed that he had submitted an application on time, and he submitted a swift post receipt along with a copy of his application to support his contention that he submitted his 2001 area aid application on time. In the light of these circumstances, his 2001 area aid application has now been accepted and fully processed.

The person named is due £3,782.50 under the 2001 area-based compensatory allowance scheme in respect of 43.30 hectares of more severely handicapped land at £70 per hectare, and 16.70 hectares of mountain type land at £45 per hectare. This compares with his average payment of £3,220 in the three years 1998, 1999 and 2000. Payment will issue before the end of November.

The person named will be paid the 80% advance under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme, amounting to £7,637.24, 9,697.30, within the next seven days.
