230 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if her attention has been drawn to the plans for a project (details supplied) in County Monaghan; if she will support the project; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [29318/01]
I can confirm for the Deputy that details of the project in question have been submitted to me.
I regret there are no funds available to me to support community environmental projects of this nature by way of financial assistance. However, I will be happy to support the project by arranging for personnel from Dúchas, the heritage service of my Department, to contact the promoters of the project with a view to providing advice free of charge in relation to the conservation and protection of these wetlands and on how they might develop their proposals further.
