Vol. 545 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Enda Kenny

Question:

261 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the provision of water from the Lough Mask regional water scheme to Balla, County Mayo; the other locations or existing group schemes to be connected into this scheme; the allocation of moneys towards this proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30029/01]

The extension of the Lough Mask regional water supply scheme to Balla is included in my Department's water services investment programme 2000-2002 to advance through planning. To assist its consideration of the contract documents for the scheme submitted by Mayo County Council, my Department has requested additional information from the council. The locations and group water schemes to which services will be provided would be for Mayo County Council to determine in due course.
