Question:366 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science if the teaching post due to be withdrawn from a school (details supplied) in County Mayo will be kept until 31 August 2002. [30021/01]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that, as an exceptional matter, the 11th mainstream class teaching post which was due to be withdrawn on 31 December 2001, will be retained by the school in question until 30 June 2002. The board of management of the school will be advised of the position.
