Question:

148 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science the status of plans to provide a new school building for the school of the Holy Spirit, Kilkenny; and if he will give consideration to the provision of a secondary school facility at the same time. [30061/01]

The property management section of the Office of Public Works has been asked to report on the possibility of acquiring a new site for the school of the Holy Spirit, Kilkenny. When this report has been received and considered, the matter will be progressed further. It is envisaged that a second level wing will be incorporated into the proposals from the board of management.

Liam Aylward

Question:

149 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application for an extension to a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will proceed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30063/01]

An application from the school in question for additional accommodation was recently received from the school authorities and is being examined in the planning section of my Department.

The outcome of this examination will be conveyed to the board of management as soon as possible.
