56 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Finance if, in regard to his interview in a newspaper (details supplied) on 24 October 2001, he will indicate if he intends to raise or remove the ceiling on employees' PRSI; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29949/01]
As the Deputy will be aware, the newspaper article in question covered a range of economic issues in addition to references to PRSI matters. I wish to inform the Deputy that as I indicated in my reply to the interviewer's question referring to the employees' PRSI contribution ceiling, I will give the issue careful consideration and will address it in the context of my forthcoming budget.
