Question:

158 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education and Science the remedial or special needs teaching resources which are provided by a school (details supplied) in Dublin 9; the provision for people with reading difficulties; the number of persons with difficulties in the school; and if a person (details supplied) is being provided with additional teaching support. [30236/01]

The approved teacher allocation to the school in question for the current school year includes provision for a full remedial teaching – learning support – post. In addition, a concessionary allocation of the equivalent of 0.73 of a whole-time post has been approved to cater for the special educational needs of five pupils, including the pupil referred to by the Deputy, attending the school.
