Vol. 545 No. 3

Written Answers. - Milk Producers.

Michael Bell

Question:

37 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he has given con sideration to calls for the introduction of bonus payments for farmers who produce milk in the March-October and October-November period due to falling production in these months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30155/01]

The supply of milk is a commercial transaction between milk producers and milk processors. The basis on which payment is made is a matter for agreement between the parties concerned though I understand that winter bonus schemes have been a feature of payment arrangements in certain co-ops.

Question No. 38 answered with Question No. 28.
