Vol. 545 No. 4

Written Answers. - Capital Acquisitions Tax.

Austin Deasy

Question:

223 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Finance if he will grant the owners of caravan and camping sites the benefit of business property relief for capital acquisition tax purposes, on the transfer of their enterprises to their offspring; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30999/01]

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the availability of the CAT business relief on the transfer of family businesses involved in the operation of caravan and camping parks depends on the particular facts in each case. I will have the matter reviewed in the context of the forthcoming Finance Bill.
