257 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of administrative, medical and non-medical personnel employed by the Eastern Regional Health Authority since its establishment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30700/01]
The Eastern Regional Health Authority was established under the Heath (Eastern Regional Health Authority) Act, 1999. The date of establishment of the authority is 1 March 2000. The details as requested by the Deputy are as set out as follows:

258 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Health and Children the administrative running cost of the Eastern Regional Health Authority in its first year of operation; the administrative running cost of the old Eastern Health Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30701/01]
The figures requested by the Deputy are shown in the following tabular statement. These figures have been extracted from the Annual Financial Statements of the health boards. It is important to note the 1999 figure for the Eastern Health Board covers a period of 14 months up to 29 February 2000, whereas the figure for the Eastern Regional Health Authority covers the balancing period of ten months up to 31 December 2000. The Deputy will be aware that the authority came into operation on 1 March 2000. The 2000 accounts are not yet audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General.
