I am pleased to inform the Deputy that architectural planning is under way at present for a building project at the school in question. It is not possible at this stage to say exactly when the project will go on site.

386 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide an update on the situation of West Dublin Education Centre; if the centre is located in the purpose-built and completed building at Institute of Technology, Tallaght; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has practically completed the construction of the new Dublin West Education Centre in the grounds of Tallaght IT. West Dublin Education Centre has not yet relocated to the new purpose built centre. The lease agreement in respect of the land currently held by Tallaght IT has not yet been finalised to the satisfaction of all parties involved. Continuous efforts are in place between the Chief State Solicitor's Office and the solicitors acting on behalf of Tallaght IT to resolve these difficulties as a matter of urgency. Officials of my Department have scheduled a meeting with the Director of the Institute of Technology Tallaght also with a view to accommodating West Dublin Education Centre in the new building as soon as possible.
