Written Answers. - Overseas Missions.

John Browne

Question:

58 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Defence the number of Irish military personnel based in Brussels as part of the Government's commitment to Partnership Peace; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30631/01]

A total of four Irish military personnel are attached to the liaison office of Ireland to Partnership for Peace which is located at NATO HQ in Brussels. A fifth officer acts as the KFOR/SFOR liaison officer and military representative to the Partnership co-operation cell/SHAPE located in Mons.

These officers continue to fulfil their roles as liaison officers in the context of our participation in Partnership for Peace and KFOR/SFOR.
