Question:

129 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children if an earlier appointment can be convened for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8; and the alternatives available. [31066/01]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

130 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason it has taken seven weeks between the taking of a smear test and receiving the results by patients at Galway Regional Hospital. [31067/01]

The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
