109 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo must wait for assessment for knee replacement surgery until April 2002; and if the person can be called before the date in question. [31231/01]

The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
