Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Agriculture Appeals Agency.

Sean Fleming

Question:

310 Mr. Fleming asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when the new agriculture appeals agency will be in operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1915/02]

Planning for the staffing and accommodation of the new Agriculture Appeals Office is now well advanced. The office will be located in Portlaoise. The Civil Service Commission interdepartmental competition for the appointment of the director and deputy director of the office is now expected to be advertised in the next week and the selection process for the remaining staff will be initiated immediately thereafter. It is expected on that basis to have the office operational in the spring of this year.
