Written Answers. - Leopardstown Racecource.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

372 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he has examined the case made by a number of members concerning Leopardstown racecourse during the Dáil debate on the Horse Racing Ireland (Membership) Bill, 2001; if he has met with the chairpersons of Leopardstown racecourse and Horse Racing Ireland in this regard; the outcome of these discussions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2718/02]

I have had a brief discussion with the chairperson of Horse Racing Ireland concerning Leopardstown racecourse and I am aware of the issues involved. The current chairperson of Leopardstown racecourse has only recently been appointed and I have not yet had an opportunity to meet him.
