Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Sports Stadium.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

58 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has received the draft report of the consultants commissioned to carry out an independent overview of the Sports-Campus Ireland project; the main conclusions of the interim report; if he has brought the report to the Government; when he expects it to make a decision on the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2549/02]

As I have already indicated in reply to an earlier question today, the independent consultants, High-Point Rendel, have completed the overview of the cost of the Stadium and Sports Campus Ireland project. The steering group appointed by the Government to oversee the work submitted their final report to me early in December. Since then a Cabinet sub-group has been considering the options open to the Government in the light of the recommendations of the HPR report.

I do not intend making any further statement on the report until the Government has completed its considerations and reached a decision.
