Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

498 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children if the refusal of invalidity allowance to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will be reviewed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1307/02]

I understand that the Deputy is referring to mobility allowance. The assessment of entitlement to and payment of the mobility allowance in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive, Eastern Regional Health Authority, to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
