Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Brian Hayes

Question:

540 Mr. B. Hayes asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of rheumatologists available for public patients in the new Tallaght Hospital; if his attention has been drawn to the delays which public patients encounter while attempting to obtain treatment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1646/02]

Services at Tallaght Hospital are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. The level of rheumatology services provided at the hospital is a matter for the authority in the first instance. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to examine the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
