Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

764 An Leas-Cheann Comhairle asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the provision of an enhanced sewerage facility for the village of Inniskeen, County Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1927/02]

No such proposal was included in the list of water and sewerage schemes submitted by Monaghan County Council in response to my Department's request to local authorities to undertake fresh assessments of the needs for capital works in their areas and to prioritise their proposals on the basis of the assessments. The priority lists were taken into account in the framing of the Water Services Investment Programme 2000 – 2002, announced in July 2000. It would, however, be open to the council itself to consider advancing the scheme under the devolved rural water programme.
