805 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will make funds available to the various local authorities in County Kildare to undertake urgently needed main and county road improvements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2892/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 802 and 805 together.

I have recently announced non-national road grant allocations totalling 438.46 million for local authorities in 2002; Kildare County Council's allocation for 2002 is over 21 million, which is an increase of 228% on the 1997 payment. Details of the allocations are set out in the following tables:
