Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Paul Bradford

Question:

994 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his plans for the future of Fermoy Garda sation, County Cork; and if he will meet a deputation from Fermoy Town Council to discuss the matter. [2076/02]

As I indicated in my reply to Question No. 387 on 17 October 2000, my Department received a submission from the Garda authorities in relation to the location of the divisional headquarters in the Cork north division, which is currently located in Fermoy.

Arising from that submission, further important information has been sought and is currently awaited from the Garda authorities. In the circumstances I would not be in a position at this stage to discuss any specific proposals in relation to the matter with a deputation, as suggested.
