1149 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education and Science the procedure in relation to the development of a new national school building; the number of stages involved; the detail of each stage; the procedure in relation to the provision of sites; and if he will make a statement in the matter. [1407/02]
I will arrange to have a copy of my Department's design team procedures for primary schools forwarded to the Deputy.
Where a decision is taken to acquire a site, my Department requests the property management section of the Office of Public Works, which acts on behalf of my Department in relation to site acquisitions generally, to undertake the acquisition of a suitable site.
The final decision in relation to site acquisition rests with my Department.
