Question:

1164 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science when a school (details supplied) in County Kildare will be granted home-school liaison teachers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1487/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 1162 and 1164 together.

All second level schools that are designated as disadvantaged have been invited to participate in a home-school-community liaison scheme and have been allocated additional teaching resources to facilitate their participation.

There are no plans at present in my Department to designate further second level schools as disadvantaged. However, I wish to assure the Deputy that the needs of the school in question will be considered in the context of any future review of the disadvantaged and home-school-community liaison schemes at second level.
