Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

1246 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the appointment of a remedial teacher for Corrandulla school, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1952/02]

Paul Connaughton

Question:

1253 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide a full time remedial teacher for Corrandulla national school, Corrandulla, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1979/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 1246 and 1253 together.

I am aware that the school in question has applied to my Department for a full-time learning support teacher post. The school currently has the services of a remedial teacher which it shares with three other schools in the area.

The needs of the school in question will be taken fully into account in the event of additional remedial teacher posts becoming available for distribution.
