Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

1374 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if adequate second level school places are available or are likely to become available in Celbridge, County Kildare; the extent to which he proposes to enhance the facilities at the two existing second level schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2637/02]

A new 900 pupil school building was provided for St. Wolstan's community school in 1999. Current enrolment is 712 pupils. In addition, the planning and building unit of my Department is examining an application from the Salesian college for additional accommodation and a response will issue to the board of management as soon as possible.
