Vol. 548 No. 2

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Dan Neville

Question:

305 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will increase the baseline for calculating payments under the work carried out in lieu of social housing; and the level to which he intends to increase it. [4518/02]

The formula for calculating repayments under the schemes for improvement works in lieu of re-housing and extensions to local authority housing is being reviewed by my Department in light of increases generally to the cost limits for work undertaken under the schemes. It is expected that this review will be completed in the near future and a circular will issue to all local authorities informing them of any changes.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

306 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the total allocation to Donegal County Council and the local authorities in Donegal for housing in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001; the projection for 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4542/02]

Capital expenditure by local authorities in County Donegal under the local authority housing programme in the years 1995 to 2001 is set out in the following table. This expenditure is funded by a combination of Exchequer capital grants and internal capital receipts. I will be notifying local authorities of their preliminary financial allocations for 2002 in the near future.
