441 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has considered the proposal, submitted in August 2001, to establish an autism specific unit in Scariff national school, County Clare; the decision which has been made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4510/02]
The proposal in question is the subject of detailed discussions between officials of my Department, the National Educational Psychological Service and a representative of the project in question. I am hopeful that these discussions will lead to a positive outcome so that appropriate provision can be made for the children in question as soon as possible.
