Question:

198 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Finance the position regarding the Office of Public Works purchasing a green field site or an existing building for the development of the recently announced agriculture offices in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim; and if the site or building will be purchased in 2002. [5796/02]

The Commissioners of Public Works invited tenders for the purposes of acquiring a premises/site for a district livestock office and a district veterinary office of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim. Tenders have been received from six interested parties and they are currently being evaluated. It is hoped that a decision on the outcome of the tender competition will be made in the near future.
