Question:

311 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the new sewerage scheme for Dungarvan, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5336/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 310 and 311 together.

These schemes have been approved for construction under my Department's water services investment programme 2000-2002. I approved contract documents for the collection and delivery systems for both schemes in August 2001 and the submission of tender recommendations for these works to my Department by Waterford County Council is now awaited.

The waste water treatment plants for both schemes will be procured as design-build-operate contracts. Tender documents for the Dungarvan plant are currently under examination in my Department and will be dealt with as quickly as possible. Tender documents for the Tramore plant are awaited from the council.

Question:

312 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the new sewerage scheme for Ardmore, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5337/02]

The Ardmore sewerage scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative and is being progressed by Waterford County Council as an element of a grouped design, build and operate project, which will also address the requirements of six other towns and villages in the county. My Department is awaiting the submission of a preliminary report for the grouped project by the council. The overall scope of the project will be further considered by the Department on receipt of the report and in the context of the next phase of the water services investment programme.
