Vol. 549 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

108 Dr. Rory O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health and Children if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 157 of 14 February 2002, he has a policy in relation to the issue raised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6252/02]

The Deputy will be aware that care and treatment is provided to patients on the basis of the clinical judgment of the attending medical practitioner. The Deputy will also be aware that responsibility for the delivery of services at Monaghan General Hospital rests with the North Eastern Health Board. I am advised that the board has appropriate procedures in place to facilitate persons who wish to seek redress arising from issues such as the one referred to by the Deputy.
