The person in question should report to the immigration registration office, Garda National Immigration Bureau, Harcourt Square, Dublin 2 in order to have his application for an extension of permission to remain as a student considered. He should be in a position to supply evidence that he is enrolled in a full-time course of education and that he can support himself without dependence on public funds. In determining whether to extend his permission to remain, consideration will be given to his attendance record since his original arrival in the State in August 2000 and to the circumstances giving rise to his inability to produce evidence of attendance at his last place of study. Students who have the permission of the Minister to remain in the State for the purposes of study are allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week without a work permit during school term.
