40 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will give assurances that the recent retirement of a person (details supplied) will not prolong the investigation into copyright violation involving Irish Music Rights Organisation and Music Copyright Protection Society; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the retired member of An Garda Síochána, referred to by the Deputy, has been replaced on the team from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation which, under the direction of a detective superintendent, continues to fully investigate into these matters.
I understand this is a very complex case involving a multiplicity of inquiries, both inside and outside this jurisdiction. This investigation is ongoing and the complainant will continue to be kept fully informed with the investigation as it progresses.
