Question:231 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a medical card was withdrawn from a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if the Southern Health Board will restore the medical card. [6517/02]

Responsibility for the determination of eligibility to a medical card in this instance rests with the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board. Accordingly, my Department has referred the matter to him for investigation and asked that he reply to the Deputy directly when the investigation is complete.
