Vol. 549 No. 3

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Schemes.

Jim Higgins

Question:

59 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the increase in some social welfare payments, such as the invalidity pension, will ensure that a significant group of persons will no longer be able to claim the full tax credit under the home carer's allowance scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6307/02]

The home carers tax credit is a matter for my colleague, the Minister for Finance. Any issues connected with the relevant credit can be raised in the context of the debate on the Finance Bill currently before the House.
